Clothes for concert - Please have students wear Dress clothes and bring a Santa hat to wear during the concert.  If you have any extra Santa hats, please send them and we will see that you get them back.  If you do not have a Santa hat, we should have enough extras to go around!

Before Thursday, watch a show without any sound on - if you can get the words people are saying on the screen - perfect!  Another option is to watch something you know well (already know the words) without the sound on. How do the background sounds and music that we normally hear, and usually don't even notice, affect what we watch?

I have been asked to pass on the following information from the Kelty Mental Health Resource Centre. <KCentre@cw.bc.ca>

On Thursday, November 14^th, the first annual Family Fair is taking place in the BC Children’s Hospital Shaughnessy Auditorium from 12 – 4 pm.  The goal of the fair is to promote awareness of family support services and programs at BC Children’s & BC Women’s Hospitals, so come and learn about the Family Support & Resource Centre,  Sunny Hill Education Resource Centre, the Family Support Coordinator, Patient & Family Education, Partners in Care, Spiritual Care, Aboriginal Health, Youth Health, Kelty Mental Health Resource Centre, and the Provincial Language Service.

The Partners in Care Family Centered Care Awards will also be held at the Family Fair from 1 – 1:30 pm.

Everyone is welcome to attend – staff, patients and families. There will be food, prizes, and loads of useful information.

The week of the Family Fair (Nov 14-18), you’ll notice TVs around the hospitals playing a DVD with information about some of the departments exhibiting at the Family Fair. Monday afternoon, October 31st, at 1:45,  we will have a Halloween celebration.  Students will have the option of bringing a costume to wear at that time (no extra/hand held accessories please).
Some students have asked if they can bring treats?  They are more than welcome to bring treats that do not contain nuts, nut products, or popcorn.
